Stone House

After our trip from Rob Jaggers campground, we were the first RVers of the season at Stone House.

However, soon after we arrived the maintenance crew was busy getting the cabins ready to open for Memorial Day weekend.

Some of the cabins for rent
Because of the Covid-19 closures and the fact that it is early in the season, the Stone House property needed a lot of TLC to prep for their Summer season.

By the way, Stone House Lodge, so named because of a stone house with 6 bedrooms, is for sale. Anyone want to buy a resort in northern New Mexico? It has great potential.

The campground was quiet every day and dark at night, perfect for relaxing. It was not unusual to find deer wandering through.

The only negative thing was an almost total lack of Verizon signal. Even our cell signal booster did not help. Not enough signal to boost :-(

However, the Wi-Fi internet connection via satellite was strong if you sat on the lodge porch where the hummingbirds were great entertainment.

Just a neat old tree with character

The lake is WAY down. They had to grade a new boat launch.

Look at the river to the right of center - 100's of swallows that nest in the cliff.

It was an enjoyable and relaxing week as we waited for more camping areas and National Parks to open in the wake of the corona-virus

We make a 2 day sprint up to Glenwood Springs, CO, with an overnight in Monticello, UT in our next post.
