So it's late in December and over 60 degrees in Indy.  There's still plenty to do to get ready to set out on our first extended winter trip.  Physically the trailer is ready to go, other than checking air in tires. But we can't load too much stuff too early because after this warm spell it could still get cold enough to freeze toiletries and food stores, etc.  Probably 3 days before departure, I'll turn on electric heat and warm the inside of the trailer so we can load everything.  I don't think I will load any water on board until we are far enough south that I am confident it won't freeze.

So when is departure?  I wish I knew for sure.  I work up until January 17.  Then we can leave as soon as we have everything on board.

When the time comes we'll pray for fair weather so we can go down I-65 to Alabama where we can pick up I-10 and head west.  Our first planned destination is Wimberly, TX, but we may take a few days to get there once we are out of winter weather.

We'll try to post photos and updates as we go so you can follow the Mosey'n Millers to the southwest and home again.  The agenda calls for us to be back in Indy by the beginning of April.  Watch for updates as the departure date draws near.

  1. So you know as a travel blogger you suck. I missed breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, not to mention lunch and dinner. And what happened to the ocean side walk, the pictures of high tides and bread crumbs tossed to the seagulls? Where's the predeparture rundown and en route turn-by-turn play? You really need to pick it up bucko!

  2. I tried to log all the daily driving, but got to confused. I do have pictures if sea gulls and water coming up soon. I'll try harder ;-)
